May 2012

Behind Kims Wedding (29) This is my Granny and my Aunt Liz at Liz`s oldies daughters wedding. I LOVE the pic.

08052012 Ok so my friend and I went out for lunch and we found this wig. LOL we had such fun trying it on and taking pictures of each other. I think that my kids would love to wear a wig so we will have to buy one for them sometime.

The girls made a Chocolate cake for John for his Birthday, we also gave him Hot Chocolate so he had a very sweet day.IMG00432-20120502-1718 IMG00430-20120502-1718

We also went and got ourselves a new gas stove and deep freeze, We are planning on being off of electricity in the next few month so we are getting prepared for it. We also got our selves a new generator which come in hand last week when the power went down and again a week later when a bird flew into the cables and we sat with out power for nearly 24 hours.

We ended up being off of electricity permanently from the end of this month. We have been enjoying it as the kids have been filling the house with laughter and I feel we have our Family back. No more everyone doing there own thing but doing the family thing again. The lanterns give off such a lovely relaxing glow that we have a peace in the house and the kids are not hyper all the time. It is amazing have electricity not only gives energy to electrical things but to people as well.

We have also started on our own vegetable garden and I am very excited to be planting vegetables and look forward to learning to grow them.

The weather has turned cold and we have been having a fire inside most days, It has been nice and cosy with the fire and the Family around,

The girls had a friend around this week, they have been so busy with walking up the mountain, helping with the garden, helping John set up our water pump so we could pump water, moving the gas stove and fridge to a new place.

We made some yummy pot bread the other day, the kids took tuna tins and half filled them with dough and then covered then and made their own bread in the fire. Everyone really enjoyed the bread. Nothing beats hot fresh bread with home made butter, and a slice of homemade cheese on it.
