We we started this month off with Sarah`s 5th birthday, I cant believe how fast my kids are growing.

Sarah and Chantal. She had just finished opening her presents and we where all sitting on our bed enjoying watching her.

We starte

d the day off with a lot of goodies for the family and then in the afternoon we had the Party with the friends and the cake.

  Nicki made Sarah the most stunning cake for her Birthday, The girls and I put all the jelly tots on it for her.

Daddy, Mommy and Sarah. ( I want you al l to know that the cake lasted 3 days and please believe me we had lots of people here over 25)

We had some special guests from Cape Town as well.

  Ok we started off with heavy frost that killed all the grass and a few days later we got heavy rain (400mm) over 2 days with horrid wind, it was very scary.

 

  The water was over flowing every where, John is trying to stop the water from filling in to the dam so the house below would stop filling with water.

Mousse decided that a stroll in the house was what she needed to do, she thought she would check to see what we were up too.

We have had a very strange month with our weather, we have had heavy rain, horried winds, lots of frost, stunning sunshine, very cold in the – numbers to very hot in the 25s, that was just this months so now we wait and see what we will have for Spring, I am excited as I have my own vegetable garden but and a bit worried about our weather..

June 2012

So we started this month with out electricity and we have been having fun making bread on the fire as the weather has turned very cold very quickly. The little kids have been helping me make the fires, They get to light the fire with matches and take great joy in it when it lights up and they feel that they have achieved a lot, they where the ones that made the hot water are helped in making the bread.

This is a raison bread that we made in the pot. There is nothing better than hot bread with home made butter on it.

Here is a photo I took of the full moon when I was jumping on the trampoline. I zoomed in and it looked like a diamond so gorgeous. We are blessed with such beauty around us.
